RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability)

RAS

The engineering discipline, central to every IBM Power generation, of designing hardware that minimizes downtime and data loss for mission-critical enterprise workloads.

RAS is the design constraint behind features like OMI's ability to reroute around a failed memory lane. Any Power12 architecture change is expected to be evaluated against the same RAS bar IBM has held every prior Power generation to.
